Costa del Golf (Costa Del Sol)
Costa del Sol is the prime golfing destination in Europe and is often referred to as the Costa del Golf. With fantastic weather all year round, it offers a great escape from the Northern European climate. The Costa del Sol was put in the spotlight when it hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama. Europe retained the cup in a memorable victory captained by none other than Severiano Ballesteros, who inaugerated Ocean's magnificent headquarters in January 2001 in the world famous marina of Puerto Banùs.
The coast boasts beautiful golf courses for every level of play, from the wide open fairways of Mijas to the spectacular mountain course at Los Arqueros. Prices vary from course to course and from high season to low season. Most visitors find the Costa del Sol irresistible in the winter, there are fantastic deals to be found during the summer months.
